This time our Zagreb escape was to this jewel on the north Adriatic sea”Rovinj” . The city hosted the Days of communication conference or (Dani Komunikacija) which was concerned mainly with means of communication, advertising and marketing. It was held in the Lone hotel between 14 -17 April 2016.

The city is a popular destination during summer, but out of season it is so peaceful and is worth visiting if you can find accommodation with a heater. We enjoyed walking around the city specially the heart of Rovinj with its charming narrow and old streets. Flowers are everywhere and as in all Croatia the green color is dominating.
You want to taste a special dish? Look for fish with truffles! As you know Truffle is Istra’s specialty and if you don’t know what is it, it is this rare mushroom that grows under the ground.
We noticed that most of the city attractions off season are by appointment. So we had a quick visit to the landmark of Rovinj, the church of St. Euphemia where the statue of St. Euphemia by the Vallani brothers from Maniago, was set up at the top of the bell tower in 1758. The statue is fixed in a way that makes it turns with the wind.
We also bought beautifully painted fridge magnet which is not surprising in the city of painters.
